Resource Title California Common Core State Standards Orientation Tools
Summary

On August 2, 2010, the State Board of Education (SBE) adopted the California Common Core State Standards (CCCSS). The CCCSS address the content areas of English language arts (ELA) and mathematics. Based on the Common Core State Standards, these kindergarten through grade 12 standards for California students provide a progression of knowledge and skills that prepare students to graduate from high school and be ready for college and careers. The Standards are research-based and internationally benchmarked and maintain the rigor of California’s existing standards. With support from the California County Superintendents Education Services Association (CCSESA), the Sacramento County Office of Education (SCOE) created a variety of orientation tools that will help orient California educators to the CCCSS and assist in planning for their implementation.
