Resource Title Family Engagement Framework: A Tool for California School Districts

In support of establishing strong, healthy, and systematic school, family and community partnerships statewide, the Family Engagement Framework is a tool that describes expectations and implementation strategies for integrated family engagement within state education programs. The Framework describes 18 principles that are essential for family and community involvement and describes a range of actions districts can take to implement these principles. It also provides methods for evaluating progress in increasing family and community participation. This tool can be used by districts to increase the participation of parents, family members, and community members in a child's education. Research shows that high levels of parental and community involvement help students succeed in the classroom.
