Summary

This Web site provides access to research-based materials, resources, and Internet links to support instruction and intervention for English language learners. The site includes exemplary delivery models and professional development modules for teachers in content and language areas, syntheses of recent research, and exemplars of best practices. The site also provides access to the Center’s Practical Guidelines for the Education of English Language Learners, a series of three guides that address instruction and academic interventions, adolescent newcomers, and use of accommodations in large-scale assessments. The guides include evidence-based recommendations for policymakers, administrators, and teachers in K-12 settings. PowerPoint slides that accompany the recommendations are also provided.

The Center on Instruction offers materials and resources for English Language Learners that help educators improve academic outcomes for diverse learners and those diverse learners with learning disabilities.
