Resource Title Council of the Great City Schools - Common Core State Standards Project

The Council of the Great City Schools advocates for shared standards across districts to set high expectations for students and enable districts to leverage resources so that students achieve them.

The Common Core State Standards resulted from the work led by the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) and the National Governors Association (NGA). These standards build on the foundation laid by states and are research- and evidence-based, aligned with college and career expectations, rigorous and internationally benchmarked. Resources are provided to help understand and implement the Common Core State Standards. Topics addressed on the website include:

  • Parent Roadmaps
  • English Learners
  • Language Arts and Literacy
